You got to read Ken Levine\u2019s blog, which is one of the best in the business. Levine, as you probably know has done radio play-by-play of Seattle Mariner games as well as the Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres and has worked with the Dodgers. But he also is an Emmy award winning director, producer and writer. His credentials are too much to include here, but he has written for such shows as Cheers, Frasier and Mash.<\/p>\n

Go to Facebook and become friends with him to get clued into his blog and his other postings. He\u2019s great, and I don\u2019t say that about many people.<\/p>\n

His latest posting was about \u201cWhat!\u201d As I read it I realized that you and I use the word a lot more than we think we do. In fact, I normally answer the phone by not saying hello, but \u201cWhat\u201d or \u201cWhat\u2019s up?\u201d I don\u2019t like to do the conventional, if I can help it, because I\u2019m sort of a rebel in most things.<\/p>\n

As I have written before, I\u2019m not a bandwagon sort of guy, which fits in with being a rebel who doesn\u2019t jump just because everybody else does.<\/p>\n

So reading Levine\u2019s \u201cWhat!\u201d made me smile. And Levine is not trying to be a rebel with his \u201cWhat!\u201d It\u2019s a decade\u2019s long debate he has with his writing partner over the use of the word in show scripts. I\u2019m probably screwing it up here. It\u2019s best that you just read Levine\u2019s post.<\/p>\n
