And there are many of us who do good things for other people without caring to getcredit for them.

So call me dumb – stupid – when I believe that when we elect our congressman we expect they will be like us and craft laws that will help others. That seems simple enough, and is, of course, the right thing to do.

So tell me why the majority of the Republicans in Congress want to at least gut the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, or at the most destroy it completely. The ACA is designed to give universal health care to everybody, and who I submit wouldn’t want that? That’s what we are here for, to help, right?

The Supremes are due sometime this month to render a decision on Obamacare that could effectively do what the Republicans want to do if they rule for the plaintiffs in the King v. Burwell case.

It’s a silly case to start with because it all hinges on what is meant by “States.” I don’t want to get into the complexity of the case. I’ll leave that to the Supremes. But the battle to me is deeper than just an argument over one word. This is, pure and simple, an attack on President Barack Obama because he is black. In other words, it comes down to racism. There are people in power and plenty of people in the country, mostly I would argue, in the south who dislike the president because he has a different skin color.

But even beyond racism – which is bad enough – there is the core problem I have with the Republicans trying with all their might to destroy universal health coverage in that it’s a very basic attack on the average Joe and Sally who cannot afford insurance and who struggle with everyday life just to survive.

Tell me, once again, why some people, especially the majority of the Republican Party, are against helping those of us who need the help. Isn’t that what we are supposed to do?

My image of the Rs is that they see this poor guy sleeping on the sidewalk, his only earthly possessions lying by his side in a small bundle, and they walk up and kick him and demand he get out of the way. Then the Rs proceed to their meeting with Wall Street Big Cigars at the fanciest restaurant in the capital were they will get a free meal with stiff drinks while getting the help of the Big Cigars in crafting new laws that will give the Big Cigars even bigger cigars.

There is something awfully wrong with this picture and we should all be ashamed that we allowed ourselves to vote for these people, because by doing so we only have ourselves to blame for the increasing gulf between the wealthy and the middle class and poor in this country.

In short, we are kicking ourselves and demanding of us that we get out of the way and allow the wealthy to continue to be the ruling class with most, if not all, the power to decide our futures.

It’s become time to fight back. It’s become time to say enough is enough. This time, this presidential election cycle, we need to exercise our vote not for the prettiest and not for the people who will tell us what we want to hear, but do our due diligence and research deep into each candidate’s history before casting the vote.

Let me put it in simple terms: Whenever in the past the Seattle Mariners would trade for a pitcher with a history of statistics that reveals a journeyman, at best, and then they would tell us reporters that they have seen something in his delivery, his mechanics, that can be corrected and make him better than he appears, I would laugh to myself. Yeah, right.

What a journeyman pitcher is is revealed in his statistics. No amount of truth-bending can make him better. He is what he is.

It’s the same with a politician. No matter what comes out of the mouth can change what his history reveals what he is. He is what he is.

So be careful out there in the coming months when a candidate comes forth and promises you a better tomorrow. The only better tomorrow you will have tomorrow has a lot more to do with what you do then what some politician promises you.

That’s why I will have a tough time voting for Hillary this time around. Her and Bill practically looted the White House when they left the first time, and both of them coddle at night with Big Cigars in the fanciest of restaurants, plotting their next million.

Hillary’s past reveals who she is. She is what she is.

It’s the same with the freaky Republican candidates out there in a crowded field. They are what they are. No amount of truth-bending will change who they are.

It’s about time, I think, that we do what we are all supposed to be doing: help others who are less fortunate, and quit kicking them to the curb.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.

TERRY MOSHER BARACK OBAMA Maybe I must be dumb – stupid – because I believe we are put on this…

[12,3,16

post-1747","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-column","category-mosher","category-top-stories
["GET
