It must be nice to be in a situation where you can\u2019t lose. That is where Kevin Durant is today. Yeah, he has a torn Achilles tendon that will keep him out of the 2019-20 NBA season. But he has few options that many others don\u2019t. \u00a0He could resign with the Warriors for five years at $221 million or sign with somebody else for four years and $164 million.<\/p>\n

Tough choice.<\/p>\n

Coming back from an Achilles rupture is not easy. Some players make it back and never lose a beat, others never come back to where they were before the injury.\u00a0 Durant is 30 and is a lights-out shooter, so his return should be near or equal to where he was before.<\/p>\n

I predict he will sign with the Knicks or the Nets. He\u2019s an East Coast guy (he was born in Maryland) and his presence on either of these teams would push them both to new heights. The Knicks especially would welcome him.<\/p>\n

Boy, the Washington football and basketball teams sure have loaded up.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how it\u2019s all coming together like this, except they have two exceptional coaches in Chris Petersen and Mike Hopkins and top-rated kids are seeing that and jumping a board a Husky train that could be very good for several years at the least.<\/p>\n

The football program has 15 4-star and 8 3-star recruits for this coming season and just added highly recruited wide receiver Jalen McMillan as the eighth player to commit to the 2020 Washington Huskies.<\/p>\n

Washington\u2019s basketball team has added three five-star recruits \u00a0\u2011 Isaiah Stewart, Jaden McDaniels and point guard transfer Quade Green from Kentucky.<\/p>\n

Things are jumping in the region, that\u2019s for sure. The Seahawks are expected to do well, the Sounders are always a contender it seems, the Seattle Storm is back to defend its WNBA title and in a few years there will be an NHL franchise playing in the remodeled KeyArena.<\/p>\n

And don\u2019t forget that the Mariners are in a step-back phase, but if things go according to plan will be possibly contending in the 2021 season.<\/p>\n
