TOP OF THE TOWN <\/strong>\u2013 I don\u2019t think it\u2019s difficult to predict who will win the Super Bowl. \u00a0It\u2019s becoming more and more obvious that the Baltimore Ravens are it. Their quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is incredible. He can throw it, he can run it, and he is a winner. He is closing in on 1,000 yard rushing and has thrown for over 2,000 yards while leading the Ravens to an 8-2 record, having demolished the Houston Texans 41-7 on Sunday (Nov. 17). Besides Jackson, the Ravens are wrecking havoc on opponents\u2019 offense. What I find amusing about their defense is their safety is Earl Thomas, who led the Seahawks to two Super Bowls, winning one. Thomas is getting the last laugh on the Seahawks, who allowed Thomas to leave for Baltimore instead of succumbing to his demand for a big contract. Thomas may wind up in the Super Bowl and so might the Seahawks, who are 8-2 in the NFC West. But if I was a betting man I\u2019d put my money on Thomas making it before the Seahawks do. There is another question that begs to be answered here. That is whether Russell Wilson is going to wind up as the league MVP, who many think is the favorite to win it, or might it not be Jackson? As good as Wilson is and as important as he is to the success of the Seahawks, I have to think that Jackson is more the front runner for MVP than Wilson. That is because Jackson is more of a dual threat. Wilson can run, but his runs are more a scramble out of trouble thing than as part of the offense. Jackson\u2019s run are more a part of the Ravens\u2019 offense than they are as a scramble out of trouble, although he can do that too. I definitely believe the Ravens would be in trouble without Jackson. He proves every week just how valuable he is to them. It was Jackson who was the difference maker Oct. 20 when the Ravens took down the Seahawks 30-16 at CenturyLink Field, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown in the game. The Seahawks couldn\u2019t contain him. So we\u2019ll see whether I\u2019m right on this. That\u2019s it for today.<\/p>\n
