TOP OF THE TOWN<\/strong> \u2011 It\u2019s imperative we have universal healthcare in this country. We need to unite and take care of each other and the first step in that direction is to have affordable healthcare for everybody among our estimated population of 335 million. Healthcare also includes psychological care as well as physical care. I would propose as a starting point that single people with an income below $25,000 have access to free medical care, including medicine. Household income from $25,000 to $75,000 would be measured on a sliding scale up to 80 percent of cost, including medicine, be free. Household income from $75,000 to $150,000 the cost would be 50 percent, including medicine, be free. Households with an income above $150,000 would be free, including medicine, after 90 percent cost. A surplus tax of 1 percent would be applied to incomes after the first $50,000 of household revenue, 2 percent after $100,000 and 3 percent on household incomes after $250,000 to defray the cost of healthcare. Pre-existing conditions will not be a cause for denying healthcare. A bill to reduce medicine cost will be proposed, listing all medicines and setting a fixed price on each one. This bill will be introduced only after extensive research to acknowledge manufacturing and research cost of each medicine. Okay, this is a starting point now let\u2019s have a debate between us.
