Big box stores – Walmart, Costco, Lowe’s, etc – come in and the small stores disappear. Gobbled up by the bigger. Super stars in the NBA move together to form a bigger and better team. Television and radio media grow bigger and consume the smaller ones. They in turn become so big they dictate terms of media deals with professional and college teams. College teams become so big they take over big conferences ‑Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan grow huge with huge media deals. Fox and ESPN are so big they can tell the Big Ten who they can invite into their conference. Washington and Oregon just squeeze in, but Stanford, California, Oregon State and Washington State are not invited. They are the small stores that lose out to the big Box stores. Money not only talks, but it rules. Sorry WSU but you don’t deserve us. What is wrong with us? Progression doesn’t ‘always mean we are doing the right thing. If progression is fueled by money we can look to the future and see one super college football conference with bigger and fancier stadiums, bigger fan base, and $15 hot dogs. Sorry, but if you don’t have $500 for a ticket you are not getting in to the game. They only way you can view the game is pay per view, which takes a big chunk of your weekly paycheck. But that’s progress. It’s the future and you can take it or leave it. You must pay to take it. I think I will go back playing checkers. That’s it for today.
