Today is the day for commercials, Big Dawg. The first one is the Viking Crush Golf Tournament that will be held Sept. 21 at White Horse Golf Club. North Kitsap High School Baseball and football coach Jeff Weible has put it together to raise funds for his two programs to offset costs associated with camps, equipment and uniform replacement, field improvement, and other costs. None of the money raised will go toward coaches\u2019 salaries. This is the first annual Viking Crush. Weible had talked about doing this for some time, and now it\u2019s here. It\u2019s a four-person scramble and it costs $100 per player or $400 for a foursome. The cost includes a golf chart, range balls and an all-you-can-eat barbecue dinner after the tournament. There will be a silent auction during the day, along with \u201cother fun activates\u201d, says Weible. For more information contact Weible at jweible@nkschools.org. Hoke, who lives in the Manette area of Bremerton, has hiked nearly 3,000 miles in the Olympic National Park and climbed most of the major peaks in Washington State.
