TERRY MOSHER

Donald Trump isn’t nuts. He knows what he’s doing. He’s dividing and conquering as he slashes and burns old traditional campaign methods with outrageous comments.

In short, the Trumpster is all of the things being said about him and all the things we know about him, including accusations that he has raped, his cheating of investors and sub-contractors, his pathological lying, and his name-calling and his bullying and intimidation tactics.

But his real motive is to use psychology to grab media attention and to keep the stew broiling on Hillary Clinton’s emails and continue to heighten the awareness, even if is false, that she is not trustworthy, which will turn off voters who dislike him but dislike Clinton even more and will either not vote or will vote for him as the lesser of two evils.

Never in our history, have we had a presidential candidate so motivated. He doesn’t care what you think of him as long as you think worst of his opponent, and he will do his best to continue to make headlines by attacking her weaknesses and to make sure they are exposed and are front and center in the media as much as possible.

His comments on asking Russia to reveal her “lost” emails is only the most recent gambit to keep the pressure on Clinton and those emails and her supposed weaknesses. That comment serves so many purposes. It keeps that controversy in the headlines, makes the most powerful blast him, which gains him more publicity, more chances to be on mainstream media – remember even bad press is better than no press – and the more outrageous he becomes the more attention he gets, and as the world’s top narcissist with an ego to match, he’s  loving it.

The Donald is not smart, but he’s sly and cunning like a slippery fox in a barrel of butter, and because Clinton sometimes is her own worst enemy, the more he makes headlines attacking her, the more he converts the fence-sitting voters who will decide this election.

Clinton can roll out all the powerful politicians on the Democratic side and fight the good fight based on traditional campaigns that include touching all the hot-button issues and saying all the right things.

But it may be fruitless because the haters are not listening.

Trump, meanwhile, will continue to issue ridiculous comments without making one reasonable policy statement and will win the battle of the airwaves and the hearts of the disenfranchised and probably win the election.

The only way this dangerous man can be stopped is to force him to reveal his weaknesses, and that may not be possible even under the threat of dropping a nuclear bomb on his head.

If I was the Clinton campaign manager I would go after his ego and continue to harp on those tax returns he refuses to release. He can release then even while they are being audited (no surprise that they are being audited), so that is not an excuse. I would keep it up and keep it up and keep it up. Either he gives them up or at some point his continued refusal to do so will start to hurt him in the polls.

I don’t think that his and his staff’s relationship with Putin and Russia will hurt him unless the Democrats manage to hack into his electronic security and pull out the truth.

But I believe there is quid pro quo existing between him and Putin that will allow Putin to expand into Eastern Europe with no interference from a Trump White House in return for Russian markets opening for Trump to build his hotels there. There may be, and may already be, Russian money being poured into the Trump empire to keep it afloat since almost all major United States banks have stopped lending him money.

These two issues – his tax returns and the relationship he has with Putin and his oligarchy – would be my focus going forward. I would not rest until they both are revealed for their truth.

In the meanwhile, I can only pray to God that He will intervene and stop this dangerous wacko from getting anywhere near the White House. But if he does, my prayers will only intensify in order that He might save America from the man who could destroy it.

On such a dark thought, I head to some cooler places around here to escape the heat that has descended on us like a Trump bombastic blast.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a good day.

You are loved.
