I see that Michael Porter Jr. signed a financial agreement with Missouri (he could not sign a letter of intent because the NCAA only allows one to be signed a year and Porter had already signed one with Washington before Lorenzo Romar was fired) where his dad, Michael Porter Sr. has signed on as an assistant coach to new coach Cuonzo Martin,  who left California to take the Missouri job.

Porter is not the only former Washington signee to sign on with Missouri. Point guard Blake Harris, who was released from his commitment to Washington, has verbally committed to Missouri.

Michael Porter Jr. joined select company when he was named the Gatorade and Naismith player of the year and also voted the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American game. Only four others have earned that trifecta. They are LeBron James, Alonzo Mourning, Dwight Howard, and Chris Weber, all whom went on to star in the NBA.

Meanwhile, new Washington coach Mike Hopkins has gained two new recruits — Michael Carter III and Nate Pryor. Carter, a 6-4 guard, played at O’Dea and last year went to the Elite Sports Academy, a basketball training facility in Issaquah. Carter decommitted from San Francisco to become a Husky. Pryor, a 6-2 guard, played at West Seattle and originally committed to Seattle University but decommitted when Cameron Dollar was fired. Dollar then joined Hopkins staff at Washington.
