TERRY MOSHER

TOP OF THE TOWN – Wow, I did not expect this. Washington smashed visiting Arizona Saturday night (Nov. 21). The Huskies just blew them up. Arizona could do nothing offensively and could not stop the Huskies two-prong attack, air and land. It was 37-0 when Husky coach Jimmy Lake started sending in his reserves and was 44-6 before Arizona got three touchdown passes from quarterback Grant Gunnell as he padded his resume against the back end of the Husky roster in the last minutes of the fourth quarter. This score could have been much uglier and left fans wondering what kind of football monster is wandering around Montlake? Too bad this week’s Apple Cup with Washington State has been cancelled because of virus sweeping over the Cougars. The Huskies are looking for a game and if there is one it will likely be against Utah. But that is not definite.  I had a great day picking college games, going 16-3, but not so great with the pros. Oh well, easy come, easy go. A college game I hesitated on for this weekend is the Maryland at Indiana game. I know, I know, Indiana is the favorite. But Maryland has a great young quarterback in Taulia Tagovailoa, the younger brother of Tua Tagovailoa, who starts for the Miami Dolphins. The kid is good. Very good. I still picked Indiana, but I may be wrong on this one. The Penn State at Michigan game should have been to determine who might be in the football playoffs, except somebody forgot to tell them. Both teams are having extremely horrible seasons for them. I took Michigan, but I don’t know it could end up in a 0-0 tied. The Oklahoma at West Virginia game should be a shootout and the Arizona at UCLA contest might be closer than one would expect after Arizona got  throttled by the Huskies. The Wildcats should be angry and rearing to go. In the NFL, unbeaten Pittsburgh welcomes Baltimore. There is no love lost between them and if Pitt is to be  picked off this is the one. Tennessee at Indianapolis, Arizona at New England, San Francisco at Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City at Tampa Bay could also be well worth seeing them. I like Tampa to stun KC. That’s it for today.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
