I like Mariners’ pitcher Chris Young. Heard him being interviewed on Seattle sports radio and not only is he sharp, but honest. That held true after Friday’s loss at Miami when he gave up four runs in three innings, yet held himself brutally accountable.

“I didn’t do my part tonight,” Young told the Seattle Times.  “The bullpen kept us in the game. I wish I could have given a better effort. I just wasn’t sharp.”

We need more honestly in sports – in our lives – and I’m glad Young is out there telling it like it is.
