Paul Stensen 2

PAUL STENSEN

Paul Stensen, just recently retired as a teacher and coach at Central Kitsap High School, will be honored twice in the coming weeks. There will be a reception for Stensen, who in nearly 40 years as a teacher at CK coached just about every sport, at 3 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the school library.

“Everybody is welcome to attend,” said John Sitton, who also is a retired coach and teacher from CK.

Sitton also added that Stensen also be honored before the Oct. 2 game with Capital at Silverdale Stadium.  Stensen is the “voice” for CK football games and before the 7:30 game starts he will be summoned to the track where he will be honored by friends and former coaches he coached with over the years.

“He has quite a resume,” said Sitton of Stensen. “He’s made such a difference for so many for so long and did so much for decades without any recognition (that it’s about time he got some recognition).

“What a great guy … just a real nice man with a kind heart. He’s been there for everybody.”
