There is a national debate going on right now over who are the best basketball players in history, by position. There is a qualifier to this debate. It is difficult to rank players who play in different generations. Having said that, here is The Sports Paper’s selections:
Point Guard — Magic Johnson
Shooting Guard — Michael Jordan
Small Forward — Larry Bird
Power Forward — LeBron James
Center — Wilt Chamberlain
Bench — Bob Cousy, Bob Pettit, Bill Russell, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Kobe Bryant, Dr. J. (Julius Erving).
