Scott Evans worked state 2A girl’s title game, Strege was at 4A/3A boy’s state

Local basketball officials Brian Strege and Scott Evans were selected this high school post-season to work state tournaments. Strege worked the boys 4A and 3A tournament at the Tacoma Dome and Evans was at the girl’s 2A and 1A tournament at the SunDome in Yakima.

Evans was selected to work the 2A girl’s state championship game between Shorecrest and Lynden.  Shorecrest won the title with a 49-43 victory.

“It’s an experience I’ll always cherish,” says Evans, who is the recreational director for the Bremerton Parks and Recreation Department. “It makes me think of other local officials who have shared that experience – Joe Guerra, Cheryl Ondracek, TC Curry, Darrell Monroe, and Bruce Welling. I’m sure there are more, but those are a few names recently (who have worked state championships).”
