Nick Bachteler won his fourth Kitsap Scratch Bowlers Association championship when he defeated top qualifier Dane Terpone in the finals of the Designs Unlimited Open at Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard, 249-212.

Bachteler had qualified fifth, but rallied past Tom Thomas 225-203, Ryan Jamrog 248-176 and Mike VanWinkle 279-225 to reach the finals against Terpone.

Brandon VanWinkle won his first KSBO title of the season by winning the Truth Chiropractic 205 and Under Division by stopping Larry Dodd 182-177 in the championship match. VanWinkle had qualified first.

Terpone shot a 300 game in the semifinals of the Designs Unlimited Open.

The last regular season KSBO tournament before the season-ending finals are held will be April 9 at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles. The open is sponsored by James & Associate and the 205 and Under Division by Olympic Artistry.
