Central Kitsap sophomore Molly Fischer took a giant step forward (after quite a few steps forward) over the weekend when she improved her season-best run in the 3200 by 44seconds by clocking a time of 11:13.67, which is the 20th best time in the state in all classifications.

Fischer now leads all high school runners on the Olympic Peninsula in both the 3200 and the 1600 (5:10.95).

Olympic High School senior Sierra Adams improved her peninsula-leading effort in the discus with a throw of 130 feet, three inches. Angela Sampson of South Kitsap set the all-time peninsula record of 139-05 in 2000.

Jaleel Elmore, senior at Olympic, has lowered his best peninsula time in the 100 to 10.93. That time is second best all-time in school history. Zach Smith ran a 19.64 in 2014. Elmore does hold the school record in the 400 with a 48.79 he ran this season.

South Kitsap senior Albert MacArthur continues to impress in the triple jump. He moved his school record to 47 feet, one inch, which is the second best jump in the state. He also holds the school record in the long jump at 22-09 that he did this season.

The all-time record on the peninsula in the triple jump is 49-03.5 that was set by Will Dozier of Central Kitsap in 1989.
