COLIN KAEPERNICK

TOP OF THE TOWN – Colin Kaepernick is not blackballed from the NFL, he is being whiteballed. There are 32 teams in the league and 31 of them are owned by white men. You can argue this is not about racism, but I would argue it is. I believe those owners are afraid of traitor Trump who attacked the league and Kaepernick for not standing for the flag and National Anthem as he protested injustice for minorities in the country. He told an NFL reporter when this first started “I’m not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.” Now these owners are not only afraid of the traitor, but their bottom line. The theory goes that if a team signs Kaepernick their fans will be turned off and the team will lose money because of it. I would guess even though the traitor some months ago said he wouldn’t mind seeing Kaepernick back in the league I wouldn’t take anything that comes out of his mouth as the truth. According to Kaepernick’s agent and his girlfriend he has been working hard to stay in football shape and would be okay with a backup role. Still, no team has come calling despite the sudden rash of QB injuries that have propelled the Jets for example to recall former Washington State quarterback Luke Falk from the practice squad to the roster and he now is starting as essentially the third string QB. The Jets then signed David Fales as Falk’s backup. Drew Brees is now out for at least six weeks with a thumb injury at New Orleans and yet the Saints have not contracted Kaepernick. Instead the Saints signed former Seahawks QB J.T. Barrett to their practice squad. The Steelers lost Ben Roethlisberger to an elbow injury for the season and signed former Seahawks QB Payton Lynch to their practice squad. Kaepernick is good or even better than any of these backups and practice squad signees, yet he is still out there eagerly looking to go to work. It’s terribly wrong what the league is doing to him. It’s unjust and racist to not sign him. Pure and simple. … Eli Manning has been demoted to backup for the New York Giants to rookie Daniel Jones and at 38 may be at the end of the line. Manning has won two Super Bowls with the Giants, but has not been real good for several years. So the question is, is Manning a future Hall of Famer? I’m caught between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. Some times I say yes, and some times I say no. What do you think? … Local high school football predictions for week 3 – Klahowya stops Granite Falls; Kingston beats Port Angeles; Olympic defeats North Mason; Bremerton defeats Rochester; North Kitsap edges Sequim, South Kitsap goes on a two-game winning streak after beating Curtis and Bainbridge stops Interlake. .. Okay, that is it for today.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
