TERRY MOSHER

TOP OF THE TOWN – Okay, you can take a big sigh of relief. The Seahawks have this week off. That keeps their unbeaten record (5-0) intact and you don’t have to worry about the NFL’s worse defense finally crashing the Hawks to earth with a big thud. They’ll have time to heal their wounds, especially all-pro safety Jamal Adams, and maybe the defense will finally look at least average. It’s possible that Damon “Snacks” Harrison, the former all-pro nose tackle the Hawks recently signed, will be ready to step into the lineup with the schedule is resumed Oct. 25 at Arizona. That would give the Hawks a well-known run stopper. There is a big pro game on Sunday in Tampa Bay where the Bucs host Green Bay. That matches up Tom Brady against Aaron Rodgers, a battle the whole nation of football watchers are anxiously awaiting. The Cleveland at Pittsburg game also features two quarterbacks worth watching – Cleveland’s brash Baker Mayfield against Pittsburgh’s “Big Ben”, Ben Roethlisberger. Then the nation will be able to see if Andy Dalton can fill in for the injured Dak Prescott for Dallas as it hosts another young brash quarterback in Kyle Murray of Arizona. On the college football side, you will have Alabama without Nick Saban going against this season’s upstart in undefeated Georgia. Saban has contacted COVID-19 and will watch from home as his Tide try to keep rolling with former Washington Husky football coach Steve Sarkisian handling the head coaching reins. So it will be Sark against Smart (Georgia coach Kirby Smart, a former Alabama assistant). I picked Syracuse to beat unbeaten Liberty just because I don’t like the Liberty school. That may be a big mistake for me as the Orange is having a troubling season. Then I picked Tennessee to stop Kentucky in a battle between two schools on the football rise. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Kentucky win. The Wildcats surprised Mike Leach and Mississippi State last week, 24-2, shooting down the Air Raid offense.  That’s enough for today.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
