TERRY MOSHER

TOP OF THE TOWN – San Francisco is beat up physically, but I don’t see how the Seattle Seahawks beat them Sunday. The Hawks can’t play defense and I believe defense wins championships. The 49ers are also playing extremely well despite a rash of injuries. As long as the Hawks can’t get pressure on the quarterback (they didn’t get so much as a hit in 48 drop backs last weekend against Kyler Murray of the Cardinals, which is nearly unbelievable). San Francisco QB Jimmy Garoppolo is taking heat for inconsistent play, but he looked like a winner as the 49ers dismantled New England last weekend, so there is that. Seattle QB Russell Wilson had his worse day this season in the 37-34 overtime loss to Arizona. He threw three interceptions and didn’t look like the miracle worker he has been for much of his career. So there is that. And the Hawks are thin in the running back department. It seems like they are all hurt, including Chris Carson with a high leg sprain. There are a slew of good match-ups on the college scene. Ohio State is at Penn State, and while the Nittany Lions were stunningly upset by Indiana last weekend they are always dangerous at home, especially against the Buckeyes. Texas at Oklahoma State is another rugged match-up, as is LSU at Auburn. And don’t be surprised if Georgia has a tougher time against Kentucky than expected. The Wildcats are getting tougher. Ok, that is it for today.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there

Have a great day
