TOP OF THE TOWN – The Mariners have one of the best, if not the best, starting pitching in MLB. They – Ryan Woo, Bryce Miller, George Kirby, Logan  Gilbert are the youngsters and Luis Castillo is the veteran, and officially the ace According to MLB, the Mariners rank 5th in ERA with a 3.74, which is behind Atlanta (.3.58), Houston (.3,65) , Minnesota (3.69) and Tampa (3.70). They are tied with Minnesota for the WHIP lead at 1.17. (That’s walks, hits and innings pitched).  The sad part is the Mariners are 25th in hitting (Detroit which beat the Mariners Friday Is 29th). If this Mariners group stays together and avoids injury they should be all –world next season. Unfortunately, the 2023 Mariners can’t hit their way out of a wet paper bag. The Mariners strikeout rate is high. They are third in strikeouts at 882. Minnesota has whiffed 920 times and Detroit is at 887. I almost can predict that when the Mariners get two or more runners on with less than two outs, they aren’t going to score. It’s frustrating to watch. Manager Scott Servais must be pulling his hair out. I hate to see Julio come to bat. He swings so hard and fast it’s like he’s trying to cut down the biggest Redwood in the land. I sent him a message on Facebook (I’m pretty sure he didn’t get it) to slow your bat down and don’t take as big a cut. Just catch the ball with your bat and flick your wrists and the ball will go far. No need to swing from your butt. Julio needs to be coached. He’s too talented to fumble his way through games. Oh well, that’s enough for today. Stay safe.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
