The man who comes out of the woods

Former Central Kitsap fastpitch softball coach, now ensconced in retirement, lives on BainbridgeIsland where he coaches two Little League softball teams, one of which has already qualified for state and the other on the verge of qualifying.

Welling lives about 70 yards from StrawberryHillPark. His home is separated by woods from the park, which is where he holds practices and games. His players refer to him, “As the man who comes out of the woods.”
