Republican presidential candidate Trump gestures and declares "You're fired!" at a rally in Manchester

DONALD TRUMP

Donald Trump and his loud mouth has upset the political correct machine that has mowed us down in recent years and I was sitting around thinking maybe it’s time to do a little mowing myself.

So here goes.

It’s way past stupid that Hillary Clinton was allowed to have a private server in her home to handle emails while she was Secretary of State. Why was she allowed to do this? And more to the point, why did she do it?

Ok, I’ll answer that.

The Clintons ‑ Bill included here – have gotten to the point where they believe they are entitled to whatever they want or want to do. I don’t have to regurgitate Bill’s past behavior with women to know that his entitlement came early. But now the two of them, along with their only child, Chelsea, all feel entitled to whatever they want – i.e. huge speaking fees that have made the Clinton’s wealthy beyond belief.

What is dragging Hillary’s presidential run is our resentment toward that entitlement. When she tries to mingle with common folk wherever she goes on her quest to be president it comes off as phony because it is phony. It’s difficult for her to come down off her throne because she’s used to being treated like a queen.

Ok, one down.

The Republican Party and all the candidates except Trump running under its banner go to great lengths to thwart the middle or poor classes from gaining a foothold in the economy and yet it attracts a large percentage of the middle and poor classes and I can’t figure out why. Why would you vote for somebody who wants to hammer you over the head with a two-by-four if you get too close to the money pot? What is wrong with you?

The Rs want to cut taxes that will save the average, hard-working Joes and Janes a few bucks in each paycheck and to pay for those cuts those same Rs will want to cut programs that you need – i.e. Social Security – to pay for those cuts.  So does that benefit you? You got that right.

There is more R nonsense, but you get the idea.

I don’t like to use the word hate because it is an extreme emotion that to me leads to deeds that can have tragic consequences. But I do (nearly) hate the haters who hate with extreme hatred the current President of the United States. These haters frequently show up on Facebook with some God-awful and untrue story that I’m sure influences some of us (not me) with their lies who can’t quite figure out they are lies. No matter how badly I dislike a person in high office (does Dick Cheney ring a bell?) I can’t understand how you can hate somebody and spread lies to fuel that hatred.

When the haters show their hatred for Barrack Obama, the only conclusion I have is that they are extreme racist and hate him because he is black.  I can think of no other reason why you would want to hate him. But then I’m a reasonable man who has no hate in his soul.

It also blows my mind that there are a few people in this county who ride around in their pickup trucks with a huge confederate flag flowing in the draft caused by their speeding trucks.

If I wanted to, or could hate, that almost does it. What is wrong with those people?

The South lost the Civil War as it tried to protect slavery and the flag was the battle symbol of that fight. My only thought on why those persons would so flagrantly show a symbol like that is they are bigots of the first order and are proud of it.

Take that flag and shove it. That war is over. Slavery is dead. You lost. Get over it.

I know you love your Seahawks. I get it. They are the fall and winter wave that warmly washes over you. I learned a long time ago that as a sportswriter you don’t root for the teams you cover and I’m not a rooter of the Seahawks. I’d like to see them do well, but don’t expect to see me at the Cloverleaf on game day washing down my excitement while watching them play on a big screen TV.

And I don’t mean to disappoint you, but the 2015 Seahawks will be lucky to make the playoffs. Their offensive line is one weak link. Another weak link is they don’t have the deep threat receivers they need to help out their short quarterback.

The rest of the NFL has also caught on to what Pete Carroll and his staff want to do (run the ball and play stiff defense) and they will have defensive counters that will neutralize them (one of them is to keep that short quarterback in the pocket and make him throw over their tall (and mean) defensive lineman).

I see the Eagles and the Cowboys as Super Bowl contenders. Yeah, I know Husky hunters don’t like Eagles’ coach Chip Kelly for his days at Oregon, but you will have to get over that, too.

Have I done enough Trump imitations?  I think so. I’m done for today.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
