Bill VanGordon got hot at  the right time and rolled to victory the Kitsap Scratch Bowlers Organizations’ 31st Tournament of Non-Champions/Champions at All Star Lanes in Silverdale.

VanGordon qualified fifth in the Non-champions portion of the Don Holtz Realtor and Talbot Excavating-sponsored event and then smoked the competition by beating Merlin Dahlke 229-194, Travis Peterson 208-179, Casey Jamrog 243-203 and the top qualifier, Stuart McMaster, 224-196 in the TV Finale.

Meanwhile, Matt Surina, who qualified second, won the Champions portion by knocking off Kitsap County’s all-time best bowler, Lonnie Sharkey, who had qualified first, 223-183. It was Surina’s 10th KSBO title.

VanGordon then beat Surina, 204-203, to become the 13th Non-Champion to become King of the Hill in this tournament.

Next up for KSBO is the Lakeside Industries Open Division and the Seven Cedars Casino’s 205-and-Under Division at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles on February 20.
