TONY CASTRICONE

The new voice of the Washington Huskies – Tony Castricone – will be the guest speaker Feb. 28 at the meeting of the Kitsap Athletic Roundtable to be held at 6 p.m at the Cloverleaf Bar & Grill in east Bremerton.

Castricone will discuss his new and what it is like taking over for a Husky legend in Bob Rondeau, who has retired from his play-by-play duties after 37 years.  Castricone has worked for IMG College in a variety of capacities, and served as the radio play-by-play voice for Clemson Tigers men’s basketball since 2014.

From play-by-play calling to studio host duties, content production and news reporting, Castricone’s resume reflects a great deal of versatility within the college sports industry and will have some great stories to share followed by an open Q&A session.

The meeting will also include a Husky football recruiting update from Dick Baird, who is scheduled to receive a lifetime membership from KAR.  Baird, former Olympic High School and Olympic College coach, was the head of football recruiting for Washington under coach Don James.

Tickets for the meeting are $25 for non-members and $20 for KAR members and include a pizza, wings and salad buffet. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3331957
