Three area fastpitch softball players made the Washington State Softball Coaches Association first team. They are South Kitsap outfielder Statia Cermak in class 4A and third baseman Kaira Cabato and outfielder Molly Gates, both of Olympic and both in class 2A.

Making second team in 3A was Bainbridge’s Maddie Loverich. Second team in 2A were outfielder Brianna Hoffman of North Kitsap and Sierra Robinson and Ella Holland of Port Angeles. Port Angele’s second baseman Natalie Steinman was honorable mention.

Amber Bumbalough of Klahowya made second team in 1A as a pitcher.

DiaVonne DeWalt, daughter of Malachi DeWalt who tragically passed away in February of this year at the young age of 41, made second team catcher in 3A. DeWalt lives in Port Orchard but goes to school at Gig Harbor.
