Jim Monahan, general manager of both All Star Lanes in Silverdale and Hi-Joy Bowl in Port Orchard, won Kitsap Scratch Bowlers Organization’s Certified Hearing Open held at Laurel Lanes in Port Angeles.

Monahan took control in the semifinals by winning all three of his games and then stopped the rally of fourth-place qualifier Nick Bachteler, who won three straight matches in the TV finals before running into Monahan in the championship battle. Monahan prevailed 243-214 to capture his third KSBO title.

Frank Showalter, qualifying second in the Peninsula Bottling 205 and under division, beat Quade Beck 212-193 in the match to face top qualifier Stuart McMaster in the title contest. Showalter won his second under division title of the year by defeating McMaster 205-194 when McMaster failed to get his spare in the 10th frame.

By winning his second title, Showalter, by KSBO rule, is moved up to the Open Division for the rest of the season.
