TOP OF THE TOWN‑ Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been suspended 25 games without pay for conduct detrimental to the league f0r videos showing him with a gun. Really? C’mon, Ja Morant should have been suspended without pay for one season. He didn’t get it the first time and did it again. What moron does that? We have too many guns in our world (at least one for every citizen, which means 336 million). Gun owners hid behind the second amendment, which the founding fathers meant to have a well-armed militia to protect the birth of our country from outside forces, mainly Great Britain. I don’t believe they intended to arm every citizen, which is where we are at now. They wanted a force like the National Guard to protect us, and it was founded first in 1636 by Massachusetts, which at the time was a colony. I think the founding fathers would be aghast to know the second amendment has been used to over flow us with guns, leading to almost daily mass shootings. Any logical person would want us to have some control over guns. They are killing us. We have National Guard units that protect us. We don’t need every household to have enough guns to shoot up a town. Leave it to the National Guard and the military to protect us from forces that want to do us harm. Ban the bleeping guns…. Do you believe in miracles? If so, you need to lend some of them to the Mariners are they go on a six-game tour of New York (Yankees) and Baltimore with their season teetering on the edge. The Mariners need to do the improbable to have a chance of getting a grip on contending for the postseason. They are 35-35 as they start this trip today at Yankee Stadium, They are facing the Yankees at a good time. The Yankees are 39-33 and just 3-7 in their last 10 games and are without slugger Aaron, out with a toe injury since June 4. Baltimore is a different story. The Orioles are 7-3 in their last 10 games and are 44-27 and second in the tough American League East, the best division in the AL So good luck Mariners. You may need a couple miracles.
