TERRY MOSHER

THE TOWN – It makes me mad. Trading Eugenio Suarez to the Diamondbacks for a couple prospects. What the bleep is Jerry Dipoto doing? He just got rid of one of the best defensive third baseman in American League and one of most liked guys in the clubhouse. I know why he did it, he’s trying to cut down on strikeouts. It’s why he also earlier rid himself of Teosar Hernandez. Both trades stink. Instead of getting rid of these guys, teach them how to make contact instead of striking out. That is what hitting coaches are for. But don’t quit on two guys who have power and are good team guys. It’s nuts. No wonder the Mariners have a terrible time winning. Maybe it’s time to get rid of Dipoto…. Honestly, I felt the Washington Husky football team would have been beaten by now. I thought Oregon State would beat them. They keep hanging on, though. Now they face Washington State that just made Colorado look like a poor Chico Peewee team.  I can’t figure out the Cougars. They looked good earlier and then went on a six-game losing streak before Colorado offered themselves as sacrificial lamb. I keep waiting for the Husky magic to run out. Penix certainly has run out of magic. A few weeks ago, he was the front runner to win the Heisman. Now he’s sitting third, experts say, behind LSU’s Jayden Daniels and Oregon’s Bo Nix. I believe Nix is the best. I also believe Oregon is the better team and if the Ducks defeat Oregon State there will be a rerun of the Washington-Oregon game in the regular season won by the Huskies 36-33 when the Ducks’ missed a 43-yard field goal in the last seconds that would have sent the game into overtime. An Oregon win over Oregon State pits the Ducks and Huskies into the Pac-12 championship game. … Hey, the Washington Husky men’s basketball teams looks fairly good. They gave Nevada and San Diego State good goes before falling and that shows me some promise of good wins down the road. I like their guard play, especially Sahvir Wheeler, as quick and fast as any I have seen with an unbelievable knack for knocking down underhanded, driving layins off the glass while defended by tall dudes. I also like 6-8 transfer portal (Portland) guy, Moses Wood. He’s an excellent shooter, which is something Washington has lacked for several years. Keion Brooks Jr. is a 6-7 forward and the team’s top scorer. He is streaky, but when he’s hot, he’s unstoppable. Wesley Yates III has been out with an injury, but the 6-4 freshman guard may be the best of all of them. The Huskies may not win the Pac-12 Conference (Arizona is the top favorite) but they have a chance to make the postseason, and I would not have even guessed that coming into the season. That’s it for today. Stay safe.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
