DRAYMOND GREEN

So it’s great for Canada that the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship in a terrific Game 6 in Oakland against the defending champion Golden State Warriors. I like the Canadians, so there is that.

But there will always be an asterisk after this championship because Golden State was the wounded Warriors. They played without Kevin Durant, one of the top three or four players in the NBA (Durant did play long enough in Game 5 to score 11 points before tearing his Achilles Tendon) and lost half of the Splash Brothers  ‑ Klay Thompson – with 2:22 left in the third quarter of Game 6 when he tore an ACL. Thompson left after scoring 30 points.

But kudos to the Raptors, who I had predicted would win in five games. They played awfully well under first-year coach Nick Nurse. They got unbelievable production from point guard Kyle Lowry, who I thought could have been named MVP instead of teammate Kawhi Leonard, Fred VanVleet Serge Ibaka and Pascal Siakam.

Durant will miss the entire 2019-20 season to recover from his injury and that shakes up the off-season free agency moves because there were rumors he would move on to the New York Knicks, which probably would have sat off some other moves from free agents. With him out of the off-season equation, free agency moves will be less involved.

One thing I got from all of this is that Draymond Green is one hellevua a player. Guys like Steph Curry, Thompson and Durant get most of the media attention, but without Green the Warriors are not nearly as good. Green rebounds, assists and ignites the offense with his full-court drives. I like him a lot. As I said before, if were choosing sides I would pick him first because he’s the rock that holds the Warriors’ foundation together.

I literally get sick with all the horrible stuff that traitor Trump does (or does not do) and it’s ruining our democracy. I often feel like I’m the only one who sees the larger picture. He is headed toward a dictatorship by bullying, intimidating, lying, conning, and behind the scenes stacking the courts with loyalists, gutting our security agencies, destroying government departments by hiring acting secretaries who are opposed to the departments he has hired them for, blasting free media and ignoring laws, regulations and our constitution.

Traitor Trump really is a bad dude. He does not have the normal traits of a normal human being. He’s resistant to his enemies. He badmouths those he doesn’t like and lawyers up against all others. His first, second, third and fourth instincts are to sue, sue, sue, and sue.

He openly invites foreign countries to intervene in our elections on his behalf. If you think the 2020 election will be clean you are living in La-LA Land. And if he loses the election, his first move will to claim the election was rigged and he will sue to overturn it (and remember he’s stacking the courts with loyalists).  He will never surrender power willingly. He will fight to keep it with all his means and we might have to call out the army to dislodge him.

May God help us.

We are living in uncertain times because of rapid changes in how we get our news and how much news we get that is not true and the amount of news that is available to us.

Let me explain. I think social media is our enemy and contributes to the divisions in society we now see. We are dividing our self into tribes. Friends are becoming enemies. That can’t be good no matter what you think.

On top of that are people (and countries) smarter than me that use these social media platforms for their own agendas. A man as evil as traitor Trump uses them to lay his con on millions. He influences them. They believe him when in fact he’s lying unrelentingly through his teeth.

Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, China and North Korea, to name just the few we know about, are all trying to influence and sow chaos in our democracy through social media, hoping to destroy us.

We have to assume that there is coordination going on between traitor Trump and his top Republican allies and these countries, especially Russia, because the Republicans have done everything they can to block any effort and money to protect us. Why would they do that? You don’t have to be a genius to figure that out.

I believe social media is too much too often. Nothing is sacred anymore. Everything is laid bare for all to see. It’s too much consumption. I don’t need to know a lot of this stuff that swirls around social media platforms.

Months ago, I got off Facebook, which I believe is the worst enemy of our democracy.  It does little to protect against propaganda, lies and hateful commentary.  I still post on Facebook,  this one as well. But I refuse to look into what is going on with Facebook. It’s just too much junk, too much stupidity, too much false postings. There are people I know, even relatives, that post things that are so unbelievable stupid and false that it broils my blood.

So to stay grounded, I stay away as much as possible.

Anyway, I wish I could have better news. Keep your head up and dodge the bullets thrown your way. And pray that our country is saved from ruin.

Be well pal.

Be careful out there.

Have a great day.

You are loved.
